Women in #Aviation; How many are mechanics?

In addition to being an author, I have been an aircraft mechanic for the past 15 years. It is an interesting industry that has led me to very interesting places and meeting some neat people. 

How common is it for women to be in  aviation? Here are some statistics according to Women in Aviation (WAI) website:
