I am having a lot of fun
writing my second adventure for Princess Alexia and her friends. I am getting
to research more about dragons, knights, trolls, gnomes, moles, and fairies.
Titus, Princess Alexia’s
friend, is a dragon who dresses and speaks as a pirate. He lives in the forest
and to this date, has not seen the ocean. He flies and breathes fire when he
feels the need too. He is also finding himself in all sorts of trouble.
So without further ado, here
is the rough draft of the beginning of Princess Alexia: The Legend of the
Trolls.
Princess
Alexia: The Legend of the Trolls
It was a dark and stormy
night when the gnomes surrounded the tiny troll village set at the base of the
mountain and on the edge of the forest. The gnomes stood at an imposing height
of six feet with a bulky frame and a slight arch in their back. Beady black
eyes peered into the night and their shaved head presented a frightful
appearance.
The clouds moved in front of
the moon blocking what little light there was. The leader gave the signal, a short
whistle three times, and, as one, they attacked. In the midst of heavy
fighting, the heavens opened and raindrops pelted the ground as the wind
whipped around them.
Thunder boomed and drowned
the noise of the battle as the gnomes passed through the outer barrier and went
into the castle yard. A servant of the King and Queen ran into their bedchamber
ushering them into a secret passage, but not before the Queen cried out for
their deaf daughter, Rasha. The servant assured them that he would gather the
girl and be right behind them.
Unbeknownst to the panicked trio,
a gnome had reached her room, threw her over his shoulder and carried her off
to Misty Hollow Swamp.
